Handicaps Updated for May

Handicaps have been updated based on April scores. They’ll be in effect for May events.

May will be a little harder for guys who improved their handicaps. They’d almost be pitiable if we weren’t all trying to go low. The biggest reductions were relatively small:

  • Kelly B moved dropped 1.2 from an 18.0 to 16.8
  • Anthony L dropped 1.1 from 16.8 to 15.7
  • Stetson dropped 0.8 from 23.1 to 22.3.

Meanwhile, odds of winning in May went up for several guys whose handicaps went up. The biggest increases were most among the rookies, who by nature of being new to the league have fewer scores and are therefore more likely to be impacted by new scores.

  • Josh F gained 12.8 from 20.0 to 32.8
  • Steve M gained 6.0 going from 3.4 to 9.4, which has to make the PGA pro and Washington Golf Course clubhouse manager a May favorite.
  • Brian S, who played college golf, move up 5.5 from 8.0 to 13.5.Â
  • Tony Z increased from a 15.0 to an 18.3.
