WHAT UP FELLERS!!!!
Hope everyone is having a great start to the week… Good ole Ohio, give you a week of 70’s and Sunny, then a big “FUCK YOU” to the golfing world the two weeks after.
For this course and this course ONLY , we will give you another week to play St. Dennis based on the weather and cards submitted so far. We are not changing the schedule, you just have an extra week to card St. Dennis the same week you card Ironwood.
We will hold off calculations for St. Dennis for another week, so those who did not card a round will get the opportunity to. But moving forward; weather, wife, kids, significant other, don’t matter…you got the week to card the round!
Information below about the leagues 1st week and some information….. I need to give a Huge shout out to Gabe, CDAO!!!!
All this detailed information, website, building out the player profiles, spread sheets etc., has all been our CDAO…. Gabe has EASILY spent 100 hours of his free time doing all this the moment we found out we were taking over the league…. I would expect Gabe to not pay for a single drink on the course this year!!!!!!!!!!

Week 1 Results^
Play has concluded at the season’s longest event, Shawnee Hills. In week 1, 28 players reported scores. Neil (hcp: 22) posted the lowest net score among the field of 28. His 87 adjusts to a 65, six under par. Vince (hcp: 19) fired an 85, net four under for second place. Neil and Vince also tied for the week’s most greens in regulation. News flash: the game’s a lot easier when your first putt is for birdie?
Michael F (hcp: 12) posted the lowest round with a 79, helped along by his league-leading 27 putts. His score adjusts to a -3, which was good for a three-way tie for third. Joining him in the three-spot are Anthony (hcp: 17) and Phil C (hcp: 20).
Among the guys in the money games, Michael F also took two skins with pars on the long par 4s, #4 and #8. Pars on #14, #16 and #17 won skins for Cory W, Ryan H and Tyler D, respectively. Gabriel B took one on #18 with a birdie, as well as a pin on #2. Ryan H took the other pin on #15.
Neil’s win fetches him 300 cup points. Vince takes 165. Michael F, Anthony L and Phil C racked up 105. However, everyone who played banks at least some points toward the season-long Cleveland Cup.
Notably absent from the event was 2021 champion Derek, who arguably should also have been the 2022 champion. But Derek’s recovering from childbirth, an affliction that has already led one player to drop for the season. The weather isn’t cooperating for Derek to play St. Denis, although his game looked strong Saturday in adverse conditions at his home course, Manakiki. Neil and Vince and others, however, better not get too comfortable, because these first two weeks are only additional events, and a competitor like Derek is apt to battle back as the season progresses.
